03 escape - low oil pressure light stuck on after replacing sensor.
I replaced the low oil pressure sensor on my 03 escape 3L v6. Before replacement the light would flicker at low idle after the car was warmed up, and would shut off while accelerating. I replaced the sensor, and after starting it up, the light remains on at all times. Do I need to reset the computer or something? I cant think what I did wrong, it was a pretty simple procedure...

Sometimes it's the simple things that cause the most problems.
If you received the correct part and cleaned the plug before reinstalling it , it should work.
However, those simple jobs can become problems once in a while.
The switch opens when oil pressure is sufficient to open it. Check to make sure the wire coming from the switch is not pinched or contacting a ground anywhere near where you worked. You did make sure you replaced the correct switch, right?
You might try disconnecting the plug and see what result you get.

Ok, little update. I went out to work on the car, and when I tried to start it up, the battery was dead. I jumped it, and the low oil pressure light was off. I checked that it was still working by putting it in Accessory mode (or whatever its called. The position on the key before the engine turns over), and the low oil pressure light is working. I got it up to temp and drove around for 10min or so and it never came on. No idea why the battery was dead, might be related, might not be. I'll see in the morning if its dead again. but I really dont want to have to hunt down a parasidic battery drain.
