2007 Ford Escape - can't get gas in it.
As the title says, I can't get gas to go in our Escape. We can pump in a few cents at a time before the hose shuts off. I've taken off the vent tube and cleared out all of the dirt in it as well as the end plug up near the filler neck. No change. I've taken off the dust box that the vent tube connects to under the vehicle and cleaned that out as well. No change. Where to go next? Canister Vent Solenoid? Drop the tank and check the line for signs of being squeezed? Any help is appreciated.
Hi Triaxis,
You're not going to like what I believe you may wind up doing and that is replacing the fuel tank itself. Every so often the internal baffles let go and cause problems getting the tank to accept fuel. If you checked all the vent and canister valves and made sure the line up to the fill hole is open that may be the only cure.
