I have gotten some good advice on this site, so hopefully someone knows what this issue is.
I had my alternator burn out recently (March) and replaced the alternator, belt tensioner, and belt.
And yesterday (August) I replaced the Interstate battery at Costco.
However, between getting the new alternator and new battery, (and still after the new battery) the following lights keep coming on: Traction, Battery, ABS, and Brake (from left to right).
They do not stay on all the time, and sometimes only a few come on, and sometimes they flash.
I do not know if these are related, but my odometer has been fading in and out (brighter and dimmer) pretty consistently.
And, while driving, sometimes the locks will just pop.
I do have a code reader. I plugged it in, and turned the electric on (I did not crank it).
It is not showing any code issues.
Does anyone happen to have any idea what the issue is?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Check my signature below, what engine size?
Which exact model of alternator, new or remanufactured? Need to see if the voltage regulator is internal or external.
Normally issues like this is relevant to the voltage regulator but since you replaced them then the next thing you should do is the wiring, especially all your grounding wires. I can't provide any info/diagram, check my signature.
Note when your car is in limp mode or issue with electrical, traction, abs and hvac are the first ones to get shut down and not necessary mean those shutdown devices have issues.
Suggest you check , carefully, the connections at the alternator plug. They may look OK, but if loose or dirty can contribute to some of the problems you are seeing.
