Default 2010 PCM problems

Hi guys.. new to the forum. Just wondering if anyone has successfully repaired a faulty PCM on a 2010 escape 4 cyl 2.5l?

I've been trying to look for a clean one at a scrap yard with a key and immobilizer to try and get it running without requiring key reprogramming.

Thank you in advance

Hopefully, we maybe can save you some grief.
It is a gamble to take a complete system from one vehicle and install it in another, why ?

First, the original is programmed to your individual vehicle and VIN. The minute you change either the key, and/or the PCM , you just entered the Twilight Zone to put it mildly.
The key(s), PCM and `some other modules are programmed strictly for vehicle (VIN) If you change either the key, or the PCM ,a reset is required for the PCM and now the original will no longer work until it's coding is erased from the PCM and security module and new coding is performed. It can get little hairy.
The kicker is , if you install a different PCM and it is not reset of course the vehicle will not start , so you reinstall the original PCM, the system becomes confused and will not start with the original PCM any longer. Your only recourse is to have a certified locksmith, or dealership reprogram everything.
SO<<<<<<>>>>> if possible you might want to avoid the Twilight Zone !.

Thanks for the sound advice. Thought I had a possibility of a quick repair but like you said the risks were too high.
ordered a refurbished PCM that is programmed to my cars vin so I'll only need to pair my keys to the PCM.

Thank you !

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Just wondering if anyone has any Idea who can help me with my issue:
So i have a 2010 Escape 2.5L Auto.
1- It suddenly died on me while driving, over a week ago
2- Towed it to my mechanic, he found that the PCM fried by corrosion...
3- Got a good used one from the scrap yard but a 2012
4- Installed it had it programmed with the new VIN#
5- Can't program the new keys system always fails and the PAT system is engaged
6- Brought it to Ford dealer to try and finish the keys Ford keys, 300 for 2 keys+150 to program them + the 1st 150+ Taxes= 600+... So I said no put the rest on hold...
7- I'm broke, I can't afford it.., It's been at the dealer since Monday...

Anyone have any solutions to bypass the PAT system in order to disable it for ever and be on my way....??

We all want vehicles that are difficult to steal and this is one of the problems that come with the anti-theft system.

There may be a shop in your area that might be able to do it cheaper.. Check around.
