2011 2.5l 'misfire' > Update
Hi all, >Hanky.
Elusive misfire solved.
Sunken exhaust valve/seat # 2 cylinder.
Valve is kind of mis-shaped, very thin edged on one side -corroded!
Saw similar on a 'youtube vid'. warped valve.
Now, since these are 'solid lifter/shim type cams/valves; there is no compensation for wear.
Therefore, valve was getting less and less clearance > opening slightly when it should be closed.
Hence misfire even when 'static' compression test showed minimal difference!!!
So, bought junkyard Fusion engine,'allegedly' 89K for $650 w/ $50 core charge!?
Installed in daughter's car and sent her on way to Austin. 1500 miles and well,so far.
Fingers crossed. HTH.
