Default 2012 Escape Shift slow at slow speed

My 2012 Escape is a great running machine except for one current situation I have noticed. When I take off from a dead stop at a slow speed (5mph -10mph) there seems to be a hesitation in that first shift, almost like a slip, as if the wheels were on ice. The shifts there after are fine. HOWEVER if I take off from a dead stop at a faster speed, all shifts are fine, with no slip at all. The car is in great shape with 62K miles, mostly freeway, have taken it Detroit to California multiple times. Outside of constant jackrabbit starts, does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions/solutions about this situation? Thanks.
