2012 Escape will not start
Parked the vehicle then the next morning it would not start. The Theft light lit up. got the keys recoded and that went away. Still not turning over much less starting.
No fuses blown,
Replaced the starter per Code review. Still not turning over.

Good afternoon Mr. Butler,
Thank you for asking for additional information.
As for the Fault Code?
The tech (That Key Dude) that recoded the ignition keys had what appeared to be a "Shop Grade" Code Reader.
He used it to try and determine why the engine would not start.
According to him, the code read: Bad Starter
He did not (nor did I ask for) provide the Code Number.
He was generous to me since the key/s did not start the engine, he refused to accept payment for his service call; NOTING his Guarantee to deliver results or NO COST.
FYI, I sent him an Omaha Steak package anyway and his "thank you" was very gracious to say the least.
Anyway as I noted previously; I replaced the starter EVEN THOUGH the original starter performed per specifications during a Bench Test at the local AdvanceAuto.
Meanwhile I can confirm that this 2012 Escape has the 2.5L (inline engine).
While reading some of the other forum responses I saw one (1) that suggested "pushing" the key "inward" while turning the key.
Hoped for the best, BUT NO JOY.
This issue is a true mystery, especially since it "just popped up" out of the Blue with no hint of trouble.
Look forward to your further insight.
