Default AC Schrader Valve Service

Hi everyone,

I have a 2008 V6 Escape. The AC high side schrader valve looks to be leaking. The system was topped up last week but I would like to get the parts and tools together to replace the high side schrader valve. From what I can gather I think the high side port is part number Motorcraft YF3290; and more specifically that it is an Eaton style schrader valve. Can someone confirm that or point me in the correct direction. Many Thanks,Kevin

Since the system was just filled, why not wait until it becomes inoperative due to low charge, unless you can reclaim the refrigerant.
You may be able to tighten the cap on the valve enough to make it through the season.
Just check with any Ford parts dept.for correct part #

Thanks for the reply hanky. The charge is likely not going to make it through the summer. I wanted to order a tool to replace the schrader valve without having to evacuate the system, similar to maybe https://tinyurl.com/y5c888ta . The problem is there are different schrader valve sizes and correspondingly different tools. If I knew the size designation of the schrader valves on the Escape I could order the correct tool. I saw a comment that suggested it was maybe Eaton style fitting, but I wanted to confirm it.

In looking at the site you suggested, I don't think that tool in the picture is able to be used on your vehicle. The newer R134 fittings are different and i'm not sure the valve core can be easily changed on them.
