Default Anyone ever remove a Transmission?

I'm helping a neighbor remove a transmission from a 2008 Ford Escape AWD/4WD with the V6 and it's not going too well. Really having a problem separating the trans from the engine and most of it has to do with how the transfer case is bracketed to the engine. Not finding much in the way of procedures on any of the forums or on youtube. Was hoping someone could give me some insight with this.

I recently had to drop my transmission on an 02 ford escape FWD to replace the rear main seal. The best I can say is double check all bolts and nuts are removed, including the four attaching the torque converter to the flywheel. Also, take pictures or video tape it as you go so you can see exactly how it came off to put it back on correctly. It definitely is a tight fit and took me several hours to get it out and lowered down, but I was doing it all myself. Best of luck.
