My daughter has a 2004 Escape v6 4x4, and recently the front passenger door stopped opening. The handle doesn't feel quite right (catching on something inside the door), and the unlock lever is cocked half way out - you can't close or open the lever. Unfortunately, I can't get the door open to remove the door panel, and I can't find any videos that show how I can unlock the locking mechanism. Does anyone have an idea as to what I might try? Thanks

 

Sometimes , if you can get the window down, you may be able to slide something in the lock area and manually open the door. Another option is to have a locksmith get it open for you. If the vehicle has side air bags , best to have someone with the correct tools and experience handle it.
