Default Check Engine Light

Hello all sorry for the long post but, I was hoping someone here may be able to help with an issue I have been having with my 2014 Escape. Bought this car a few months ago, used, about 2 weeks ago the check engine light came on with a P2667 code. I reset it as the car was running fine, yesterday the check engine light came back on, with the same P2667 code. From what I have determined based on google searches this code is for a fuel shutoff circuit B high and should be associated with the car running rough or not running at all. Well none of that is the case, the car runs fine and I can reset the code without any issue. Has anyone had this same issue or may be able to offer some advice to fix the issue.
thanks

do you know if the car was in a rear end accident prior to you owning it?

"maybe" the fuel shut off valve is not connected or the wiring to it is compromised

How are you resetting the PCM to get rid of the code?

Also ,do you know where the inertia switch is located on your vehicle?

According to the carfax that we got with the car it has not been in any kind of accident, I guess it could have been in one that was not reported though. If the shutoff was disconnected, wouldnt the check engine light be on all the time instead of being intermittently coming on.

I am using a code reader to reset the PCM to get rid of the code, is there a better way? From what I have been able to figure out is that at some point ford did away with the actual switch and basically added the function to a module that is located under the rear seat.

IDK if the 2014 has the Inertia switch in the PS kick panel or it became a part of the air bag sensor. Pull the kick panel and look.

Ok so the owners manual just has the reset procedures if the car fails to start after a collision, but nothing about where the switch is located. By the way this issue is still going on. I did notice that the code reader I am using has the word permanent next to this code.

It is no longer physically in the vehicle. It is now electrically controlled.

Your vehicle may not be experiencing any physical problem at this time, however, the fuel shut off function may not work in the event of an accident or mishap.
The high B circuit indicates the power supply to that protective circuit is either open or not complete.
