Okay, this is not my vehicle. My friend's Escape 3.0l V6 has decided to start knocking. It still runs, but we'll deal with that later. I believe it's a Duratec, the vehicle is an 07. I've done an engine swap before, this one will be a quick take out the old put in the new. A big question I have is, should I be looking for another 3.0 same year or so, a newer 3.0 or a 3.5l and newer/upgrade for reliability reasons. It does have to pass emissions without hassle when we're done, so legit install. Not going to chase down performance exhausts or special hard to find parts from an SVT. Any help or advice appreciated. I'll be checking on this thread frequently.

 

One thing I've already noticed is 07 doesn't seem to get me any information relating to this engine. There's information on 05 and under, 09 and up. 07 Duratec is linking back to Five Hundreds, Tauruses, MPVs, everything but the Escape and there are differences. Anyone know why there is an informational black hole relating to 06-08 Escape 3.0l?
