Ford escape transmission issues
Hey so I have a 2002 3.0 2 wd escape and I had a problem with the shift solenoid pack electrical connector ( wiring harness side not the solenoid side) for some reason it wouldn't go down far enough for me to get the retaining clip.long story short I had connection issues ( transmission issues ) worked for a good 2 months ,got another transmission from the junkyard put it in and it wasn't shifting all the way down to 1 and it wasn't shifting all the way up to OD so I drove it for a day then I remembered the electrical issue then I replaced the Connector, checked my pin outputs with volt meter good on that and transmission won't go into any gear at all . Now I've changed out solenoid pack with an extra used one I had in my garage and still nothing. Can the transmission be shot from driving it like that for 1 day, and without making some kind of noise or hard shifting or anything? I'm not trying to do the swap out again unless I have to is there something that could still be an issue ? Transmission quality issue maybe ? Or would cleaning the solenoid pack help?
Now I think I get the picture !
If you lowered the valve body to do what you did, I would suspect you may need to lower it one more time.
This time make sure you index the shift lever pawl inside the trans on the driver's side with the part in the valve body that moves the spool valve. If it is not in the right place, the trans hydraulic system gets no hydraulic signal to do anything.
Don't feel badly, a lot of folks the first time they get into this make the same mistake.
Please let us know if any further assistance is needed, thanks.

I LITERALLY JUST FIGURED THAT OUT LIKE 10 MINUTES AGO! I took the valve body out to clean out all the valves since it had to come out anyway ( new shift solenoid) and I seen that shift piece with the hole going through the end, and it hit me. DAMN I NEVER HOOKED THE LEVER UP WITH THE SHIFT BRACKET !

I mean manual Valve with the shifter thing. Lol I don't what everything's called but yes Thank you everybody I don't feel bad at all for forgetting that. Because it means I do t have to do another swap out!!
