front passenger headrest

I have been trying to remove the front passenger headrest in my 2008 Escape XLT. It moves up and down nicely ..but I can't get if off. My question is .... " Does it come off ? or is it attached permanately ? "

try look for a button near it. if you can find a button, it is not attached permanately.

push (hold) a button and move up to get it off.
