Help: 2012 XLT not jump starting, smells burnt
Hi,
I'm new to the forum, just bought my first Ford a couple of days ago and ran into some trouble today. Hopefully I've come to the right place!
The car was running great today, we parked it and when we tried to start it 1 hour later it wouldn't run. The battery indicator was on, so we tried to jump start it with first another car, then with the towing car we had to call, at which point we noticed a burnt smell.
Symptoms:
The battery is from 11/15 so it's relatively new. There has been no electrical issues previously.
Any help would be very appreciated!
Thanks,
Felix

Symptoms:
- Battery indicator is on
- Jump starting it doesn't work
- It seems to be sending *some* power as it makes an initial cranking sound
- It smells burnt, but we've not been able to identify the source
- Lights, windows etc work as they should
- No signs of burnt cables from a visible inspection
The battery is from 11/15 so it's relatively new. There has been no electrical issues previously.
Any help would be very appreciated!
Thanks,
Felix
