Default Help

I recently replaced the serpentine belt in a 2018 Ford escape sel. 1 5 lt.

And I noticed a plug right behind the serine belt was unplugged and the connector was broke. And won't stay.

What is it for? What's it called and where can I get a new one. How can I diy replace it. Or should I hire a pro?

Connector unplugged. Serpentine belt wheel to the right.

It appears to be the plug for the crankshaft sensor.

It should always be plugged in and maybe you can secure it with a plastic zip tie.

With out it plugged in the engine will not start or run.
