Default 92 Flareside serpentine belt help

I recently bought a 1992 flareside with an edelbrock performer 289 302 in it. I'm new to the whole truck scene and try to teach myself how to work ony own vehicles. The guy I bought the truck from told me I'd need a new serpentine belt on it and mentioned something about a 23 inch belt and the code 6pk2390? He said the belt that was on the vehicle was a bit too small... I was wondering if anyone could help guide me in the right dorection as to what size belt I actually need?... Thanks!

This is what has always worked for me.
As long as everything with the engine is original, take your vin# and any calibration info from one of the valve covers if available, to a Ford dealer Parts Dept and they should be able to set you up with the correct belt. There are so many variations of belt lengths it is difficult to just get the correct one by chance. There are some tricks to even install the correct belt, but it will usually solve your problem. Once you get the correct belt # record it somewhere for future reference and it will save you a lot of grief.
