Default Ignition switch

Have a 2011 XLT Escape and have replaced the ignition switch once. It is starting to seem like you turn the switch almost all the way to start car. Is it normal for ignition switches to go bad this often?

Two things we should know,

Do you mean the key tumbler or the electrical piece that goes on the lower steering column?

Default Key Tumbler

It is the key tumbler that seems to rotate all the way towards dash.

If I understand you correctly, the tumbler was replaced.
Why was it replaced?
If it was for the same reason, then we suspect the electrical switch on the lower steering column might need to be adjusted. It has slotted holes to allow that assy to be adjusted.
When adjusted correctly, you cannot start the vehicle unless it is in the correct position for park and neutral.
Take a look at that and let us know what you find, thanks.
