Purchased new in September 2005 and just hit 235,000 miles today. I perform all my own maintenance. Here is my "major" repair history:

1) U Joints: 95,638---* vibration at 13-15 mph and again around 35 mph*
2) Fuel Pump/ Fuel Rail Sensor: 205,811 miles
3) Front Wheel Hub/Bearings:209,750
4) Lower Control Arms/ Tie Rods/ Stabilizer Links: 210,120
5) Alternator: 234,800
6) Starter next ?????????????????



Normal fluids, brakes, belts, tires, shocks/struts, battery maintenance not included !!...hoping to hit 500,000 !!!

Wow - 235,000 miles.
I recently bought a 2005 Escape Limited with 103,000 miles. I hope to get five or so years out of it.

Those are a lot of miles. Why shouldn't you go 500K? there was Chevy S10 that has been retired with 1 million miles.
