Default Rear Door/Glass Actuator

I have a 2010 Ford Escape XLT with a broken plastic link on the actuator for the rear door. The actuator itself still worked so I bought the plastic piece that is identical to the ones used on GM vehicles. It is a dorman product. Note: I couldn't find just the plastic link as a Ford or Dorman product part. Anyway, after installing the new part the door works fine now but I am still getting an error message on the dash that the rear door/hatch is ajar even though it is not. Also, at the same time the inside light started staying on and I have to manually turn them off every time we exit the car. I have checked the wiring harnesses in the door to make sure everything was connected and it is. Anybody ran into this issue before?

Thanks,
John

Which door latch did you work on?
Here is the wiring diagram, I can post connector images depending on which door.
You can jump out pins 5 and 6 to see if the door ajar light goes out.
