Towing 2023 Escape hybrid behind motorhome
I have tested the car stationary in my garage, when in neutral tow mode and after car goes to "sleep" (10 mins) the brake lights no longer come on when pedal is pushed. Also, it appears the active assist for the brakes is not operational. This seems to be a change from previous Escape hybrids according to installers of lighting and braking systems for motorhome towing. They want to install the components as if both work while towing as in previous years Escapes. Since I am testing stationary maybe the car senses when it is rolling and brake lights and power brakes become active again. Does anyone know the answer to this question? It does make a difference in installed components. Thanks.
Unfortunately I can’t answer your question. But I do have one for you. Do you know the lift points to use with a floor jack on the 2023 Escape Hybrid? I want to lift it up with the floor jack, put 4 jack stands under it, then rotate the tires.
Good question. I wouldn't have any idea how to do that. Sorry.
Curious what the outcome was on this as getting our 2023 escape set up to tow next week and have also wondered about this 10 minutes to ‘sleep’ thing, and what all ‘wakes’ the vehicle up again to where you have to wait 10 minutes again?
Vehicles with electronic modules get activated when the key is turned on , remote is in vehicle, and some the minute you lift handle to open door to enter vehicle.
They can take approx 45 minutes to go back into sleep mode and pull less power.
