1999 Ford Escort buzzing?
Hi, all,
I've been having problems with a buzzing sound in my 1999 Ford Escort wagon, and I was wondering if you could help.
In short, the car makes a very bright, very loud, very metallic buzzing sound whenever the car hits ~2,900-3,000 rpm. The sound takes a second or two to set in, and seems to be localized mainly in the right front side of the car, not much further back than the dash, rather low, maybe in the vicinity of the wheelwell area-- though it can spread around an area from maybe as far to the left as the center dash and as far back as the passenger footwell.
If you have any ideas what the problem would be, or what else I should look for to help diagnose it, that would be awesome! I was going to give it a look on maybe Friday or Saturday with a car mechanic enthusiast friend.
The car is has a manual transmission, has about 70,000 km on it and was built for the German market, not the American market, if that helps.
Thanks!
