96 efi engine
hi! i have a 96 escort turnier with 1392cm2 efi engine with an electronic ignition and i managed to snap its camshaft... now i´d like to replace the engine but it`s hard. i live in estonia (little country eu) there are many old escorts on the move here, but little with an engine like mine...
i have a running engine that fits on the car, but it is missing the electronic ignition system... it has a hole at the same spot on the cylinder block but whith smaller diameter and also there is no tooth (for the signal) on the camshaft
so my question is next: can i get this signal for ignition by any other means...

the sensor i´m talking about is the hall sensor and the other engine hasn´t one..
the cam that snaped had a tooth for the hall sensor, but the other engine cam has a non-centered disc at the same place, with its higher point also at the same place as the tooth...
so if i make the hole in the cylinder-head bigger for the sensor, does it get a signal from the camshaft...
