Hi, All

Just got an escort fully serviced it but have noticed that the speedo every now and then starts to wobble alittle then goes back to normal just wondered if anyone know what the fault is i was thinking of changing the whole dail unit for one from the scapers would this fix the fault. And how would i go about the mileage difference.

Default RE: wobbly speedo

Seems like a common problem....our '95 LX started wailing with what seemed like a bad speedo cable.However.in speaking with a speedo shop, the problem seems to be with the cable end on the speedo side needing to be shortened for some reason over time. After about 90K mi the problem started, but has actually gotten less noticeable now with 160 K mi.I just live with it,as it seems to be so difficult to get at the cluster.Maybe dropping the steering column down is the easiest way to get at it...it'll wait.
