Strange wire under dash
Just bought a 2002 Ford Excursion 7.3 Diesel. Nice truck, but I noticed there was a 16 gauge wire that had been spliced in connecting the light blue/red wire at the diagnostic plug under the dash to a wire just outside the wire gasket on the other side of the firewall. It obviously is not factory, they didn't tape the connections or anything. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be? Recall?
Thanks,
Mike

Welcome to the site..
Light Blue w/Red Tracer?
The diagnostic connector has a PK/LB wire, but I don't see a LB/R listed.. What does the stubbed in wire connect to on the other side of the firewall? What wire color is the added wire spliced in to? LB/R 'sounds' like panel lighting, but wouldn't be a DLC connection.. Are the 'add in' wires run through the customer access wires?
