Default 02' expedition aftermarket exhaust

[:@] I have this expo I bought and I have put a six inch lift on it running on 35's ,k&n intake, air raid throttle body spacer and a mass air flow sensor w/ hypertech. I have spent quite a bit of money but im clueless as far as how to do my exhaust and im looking for any tips that could help me I know I want headers and true duals not that gay 2 in 1 crap. Also does anyone know how to bypass the cats that this truck has without having to get my check engine light to come on. Thanks for any help up front

Default RE: 02' expedition aftermarket exhaust

I've got an '03 Expedition with the IRS and I just ordered a Gibson stainless side swept cat-back for it today. Better gas milege is my primary goal. I wanted true duals also, but the IRS and the fuel tank make routing the tubing anywhere else a problem except for possibly in front of the rear wheel wells and I didn't want that at the moment. From what I've seen available, you may just have to have the whole system fabricated if you want true duals. Aside from the expense, that might be a good proposition because you can try to incorporate an X or H pipe. Since they make high flow, hi po cats, install one on each bank and maybe it will keep your engine light off. I installed a set of JBA headers on a 92 5.0 Mustang years ago. It was an experience I'll never repeat (mainly because I'm not that mechanically inclined and after a lot of cussing and throwing tools, finally got them on). This is not a reflection on the JBA headers, however, because they are great products and gave my car a bit of a boost back then. If gas gets any worse, I may consider having a set installed on my Exped.

Good luck with it!
