Default 07 Expedition Needs 3 Coils Replaced

Hi there. I drive a 2007 Expedition that just hit 60,000 miles. I was informed by the serviceman at my local dealer that my car has three coils that are breaking. I was given two options:
1. full tune up and replace all coils/spark plugs for $2200
Or
2. Replace just the three bad coils and three plugs, recalculate PCM, clean throttle body and fuel injectors $1300
Are these prices reasonable? Should I call around to other shops for pricing? Help!!! Thanks! M

I'm sorry , I can't offer any numbers for what work you need to have done, but I can tell you three coils is only the beginning. A few hundred miles later another coil will go bad and after that another. Imagine what that will cost not only in $$ , but inconvenience too. It will pay to shop around for prices to replace all the coils. 60,000 is not a lot of miles on the plugs, but it's cheaper to do both coils and plugs at the same time.
Just try to have a reputable shop do the work. Dealership parts are among the better choice, but their labor prices are almost always higher than anyone else.

If your engine is a 5.4L 3V. don't even think about doing the spark plugs by yourself or bringing them to a garage that has no clue how to remove them. One spark plug sells for 25 Dollars & they are notorious for breaking.
