Default 1998 ford expe brake lights do not work!

My brake lights aren't working. , But only 1 light workson top of the hatch. and turn signals and parking lights work fine. The brake lights don't work. I changed the fuses changed the bulbs and they are fine. Does any one has some suggestions on why they wouldnt work?!!!

After what you have already done, I would go after the switch, unless you have already determined there is voltage to the bulbs.

If the high stop light works, then most likely the problem is in the multifunction switch on the steering column. All stop lights get power thru the stop light switch, so if the high lamp works then you know the stop lamp switch is ok.

If you notice any problems with the interval wipers or windshield washers, these functions are also part of the multifunction switch.

You can locate the turn signal and wiper controls? These are part of the switch I referrred to. Remove the upper steering column trim and you can access the mounting screws
