Hello,

I am new and this is my first post. I have a 2003 Ford Expedition "eddie bauer" edition. for the last 6 months or so, there is a "heart beat" sound whenever I turn on the rear a/c. A constant thumping. Does anyone know what it is and also how to fix it.

I had a similar problem and found it to be the electric unit that switches the rear air from the roof vents to the floor vent. my quick fix was to set it to roof and disconnect the electric power to the unit. I'm sure a better fix is to replace the unit. Rear A/C unit is located on the passenger side toward the back of the vehicle, I accessed through the interior panel below the window.

 

i had the same problem just unplug it in the rear panel u wont be able to switch from overhead to foot vents but oh well
