2005 ford expedition cht
Hello everyone, am having issues with my expedition my temperature gauge on my cluster don't work but am getting signal from the pcm to the gauge cuz with a scan tool it works. The sensor I took out has a hole at the tip but the one from the autoparts does not could that be an issue?
Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the site..
Have you put the cluster into self test mode?
If not,, hold/depress the odometer reset button as you turn the key to RUN, don’t start the truck. Release the button. The cluster will test sweep the gauge needles. Temp needle sweep with the others?
Every time you depress the odometer button, different modes will be cycled. Lamp test, Tach, temp, DTC’s if any etc.
If your scan tool is reading the actual temp, (should be able to see digital indicated temps during the cluster test) and the gauge is non functional, possible gauge issue since temp values are present....
