Default Abs light still on!!

My abs light came on a coupe weeks ago so i figured my brakes needed changing and maybe thats why the light was on .. so i changed my brakes and no change light still on. i took my truck to ford and the diagnosed the problem and i had a bad right wheel speed sensor. so i went and purchased the part and replaced it. while i was working on my truck i found this really long peice of spring or some sort of metal i dont know what the hell it was... anyway i took it out from behind the rotor and took the sensor off and put the new one in. i turned my truck on and the light was off. i drove the truck about half a block and it came right back on... i have no clue what the hell is wrong now.. does anyone have any clue... the brakes were just done there is plenty of fluid....

David: there are several possibilities. It would be best if you can get the system scanned for error codes.
Did you get the brake fluid changed? Was the system properly bled to remove air bubbles?
Maybe the ABS controller malfunctions, maybe another wheel sensor failed.
Maybe that thing you couldn't identify was important. Is the same thing there on the other side of the vehicle?

when i took it to the dealership thats what they said was wrong with it. thats why i just replaced what the told me. they charged me 100 dollars just to diagnose the problem. the brakes have been bleed correctly. i dont know what that springy thing was. it was about a foot and a half long i thought maybe thats what was causing the sensor to malfunction. i guess i will take my expedition back to the dealer for further inspection.

No. Don't take it to the dealer. Take it to a good independent shop. Something like"Bill's Automotive Service." Or a gas station with "ASE certified mechanic at your service".

Remember you have paid for the dealer's showroom already!
