Lean codes
Ok so long story short I needed my motor swapped in my 06 expedition 5.4 and didnt have the time or space to do it myself so i let someone else do it. 8 months later i finally get my truck back and nothing is right. A ton of pulleys parts and sensors later its running decent but im getting lean codes for both banks. During my fixing things i discovered the motor didnt come out of another expedition but an 05 F250. Since the 05 f250 fuel pump is pumping 37gph and my expedition pump is pumping 25gph do u think that is my reasoning for the lean codes? If so, other than another motor, how do i fix this? The pumps and harnesses are completely different so it wouldn't be just a simple swap. Any ideas yall?

When we start mixing apples and oranges, we open the doors for problems, why?
A lot of folks don't realize these engines may look the same on the surface , but internally can be very much different . Timing and electronic controls can be quite different and mixing them up can open the doors for unseen problems.
Depending on what type performance one expects and the type of performance a different engine can deliver can make a world of difference.
The days of swapping a 5,4 with another 5.4 that appears the same can be like a crap shoot, due to internal construction Something simple like the wrong crank pulley can affect timing and performance. The reluctors that tell the engine how to operate can be different and who would expect that to be a problem, it fit, why not?
Maybe someone will be able to find the problem and correct it , but if it can't be seen, ,,,,How much $$$ to find.?
