Need help Quick. Brakes
Guys, my brakes are making a grinding noise sometimes when you stop. I took the the expedition to the Firestong place because the tires needed rotating and the guy told me I was 90% wore all the way around. I bought the truck used with 23k on it and it now has 52k. Is this something I can replace and are there any writeups on how to replace the pads. I was quoted over 400 from the dealer and I have found another place that will put NAPA cermic on the from and rear for like 250.00 installed. Thanks!!!!!!
If you have never done a brake job, I wouldnt suggest you try it by your self, you can buy repair books at any parts store.,
Its not allways as simple as just replacing the pads. you need to know what to look for .
Plus if you just replace the pads , the new pads will wear out quicker, an the vechile will probally not stop as well if the rotors are scored

I have done brake jobs on other vehicles in the past. Recently, did a rear brake job on my 2004 Expo XLT with no problems. Found it very easy. Don't pay anyone 400 or even 250. Even if you buy the pads at a dealership for 100, that's all it should cost. Possibly the rotors machined for 10 each. Just my opinion, I'm not a mechanic and I did the job easily.
