Need quick help (and greetings)!
Hey guys, just joined because I currently have a Ford Ranger truck and am new to the Ford scene (normally a chevy guy, but giving this a try).
My dilemma is that I found a 1954 Ford Customline with a swapped 1957 312 motor. Recently rebuilt. Has 200k on the body, but is in almost pristine condition with almost no filler. No rust at all, missing front bumper. Car has been about 80% restored with all but the door panels and body painted and replaced. So it would need a new front bumper, a paint job, and the door panels redone. The engine burns a little oil and it has a 2 speed transmission. Pulls to right when braking.
Asking price is $3000 and the guy will go to $2700. How good of a deal is this? It seems amazing, but I want to make sure I can get $2700 back out of it. Thoughts?

Welcome to the site..
Have any pics? The price is about right, but depending on the overall condition. So,, you just want to turn the car and sell for a profit? Project ? If profit, might try and grind on him on the price a bit more, and if you want or need to put some into it to 'ready it' to sell or start a restoration (even partial) it would help. The more original,, the better the marketabilty IMO and without the stock engine and burning oil as well may hurt the value if a buyer looking for a stock builder. Although the fact that it runs/drives sure helps
Someone looking for a 'rod' project maynot care, more so if their looking for a clean straight body with an interior that starts with a good potential. Doubt you'd get hurt at his price or your current offer if it's as pristine as you state.. Do post some images, we love old Ford iron pics!
