Would anybody have any idea as to what this part is called and how I can go about replacing it?

It would be helpful if you were able to provide the year, model and engine size. Can't tell from the pix what is wrong with it and what kind of problem is it giving?

Looks like your referring to the EVAP purge valve/solenoid. The green cap is the test port.
Whats the issue with it?
