Default 2006 Explorer Replacement Key Fobs Need to Be Reprogrammed every few days

Not sure what is going on with this thing, but I reprogrammed the number pad on the door about 3 weeks ago, and it works great...never forgets the code I input.

I bought replacement key fobs and did the 'turn the key 8 times and then hit the fob lock button' and it will work great for a few days and then forget itself. I have 2 and they both do this.

Any idea? I can simply turn the key 8 times and reconnect them and it works great again...temporarily.

eBay.

I think I found the answer, or at least something worth trying:

I have 2 fobs, and I'd been programming them one at a time. I read somewhere if you program a new one, you can lose the other. You have to do them at the same time. I tried them both together, and will have to see if it fixes my issue.

We are all trying to save $$$. and look for the most convenient place to get things, but a key FOB is an intricate piece of equipment and many times "Fits all" parts come with their own problems.

Having had problems with some aftermarket FOBS , learned to stay with the correct part which the dealership usually requires your VIN to provide the right FOB.
They are not all the same.

Default Hank here is your answer Key Fob

Ford onle said this is the OEM Key Fob, so I searched on line "compatible key fob CWTWB1U331" Amazon 2 for $11.00
I saw a YOUTUBE that showed user with 2 old Fods working OK, wanted to add a third, Use my suggested procedure and watch youtube, you must program ALL 3 IN SAME Procedure at once.
