Default 94 explorer xlt. new to fords i need some help!!

Hello im am new to the forums and to owning a ford. Ijust bought a 94 xlt. well i have a few problems wit it and i need some help/advice about it lol.. 1st. the 4wd high does not engauge but u can hear it click in the rear but nothing happens then when u put it in N and hit the low button, the low comes in but i cant get the high to work, what could cause this? 2nd the rear breaks grab real bad, any time it rains an i apply the breaks the rear wheels will lock up and slide, and if i have slam on the breaks they lock up. the explorer does have abs and some times the light will come on but goes off next start up. 3rd the steering is kinda lose what can i do to fix that. there is more but i will ask later after i figure out mainly bout the 4wd and the breaks the other stuff dont worry bout that much, so if you can help me wit the 4wd and the breaks that would be awsome.

The Explorer and Ranger both had problems with the rear brakes locking up when wet. It was the lining, even after replaced they would do that. I would do a rear brake job and turn the drums.
