Default 98 Explorer Sport Power Windows

I have read all the posts I can find on the subject, still have questions.

The drivers side power windows has quit working. The control on the drivers side still opens and closes the passenger window. Does this mean the regulator is OK or is the regulator separate for each window?

Ford wants $450 to replace the motor, regulator and labor to repair the drivers side.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

I am going to bump the thread.

Now the passenger power windows barely works, on top of the drivers side not working at all. Can not hear the regulator click when I push the switch, have to pull the window up on the passenger side by hand when pressing the window up switch.

My two questions are:

I have checked the wiring in the door panel, both seem fine, no broken or frayed wires.

Would you go ahead and replace both motors on passenger and drivers side at the same time???????????
drivers side only???????????

Thought I would replace everything while it is apart.
