Default ABS Issues

Explorer XLT 2007 4.6 liter 4wd 141k miles.

ABS light and traction control light are both on Mechanic, after doing a scan on code, says I need a new ABS pump and also a control module. Do I need the control module? Are there any good sites where In can get a remanufactured pump? Also mechanic said in addition to cost of installing the pump, also need to program the new pump ($ 275). I thought if remanufactured did not have to program the unit. I have looked at a few remanufactured pumps and it says, "no programming". Any opinion appreciated. Thank you.

What code did you get exactly?
If something is fixable are you capable to DIY?
$275 just to program the new pump?

From looking at the report, good possibility unit fails not due to pump motor failure, but related circuit problem.

So, if I read your read your thoughts right, it might be the control module, correct? Further, you suggest I start with replacing control module
to see if that solves the problem. I guess you can get a remanufactured module to save some $$$ (since it's an older car). I appreciate
you input and advice. Thank you.

What we try to do is verify what the code(s)/ test results tell us.

Before replacing what may not be defective, suggest you check wiring and connections first.

Checking them means removing, cleaning and reinstalling them.
It can get expensive and disappointing replacing a lot of good parts and still have the same problem.
