Default drl no drl module

as the title says, I have drl and have no module, just a wire harness hooked to a plastic dead stop mounted where the module would be normally. I pulled the 15 amp fuse from engine bay and it killed the drl but also killed my running tail lights when switch is turned on. Its a 99 eddie bauer explorer if that makes any difference, also I pulled the fuse from the dash but still have the drl. Anyone else come across this and know how to just get rid of drl's without losing regular lights?

As you know daytime running lights are considered a safety item and probably should not be messed with.

The object is "To Be Seen", Studies have demonstrated if the other folks can see you , hopefully they will avoid driving into you.

Believe it or not, at the scene of an accident with the lights of Police Cars going, Fire Equip going, Ambulance lights going, and still a driver drove into the back of the Fire Truck. His explanation was , "I didn't see you" . They are out there and believe me the DRL's help !
