Electrical problem
Several months back the battery in my 2001 Explorer Sport died. I used AAA road service for a jump-start and replaced the battery the next day. SInce then the stereo has not worked. No lights or anything. Come summer I also found my A/C did not work. I had a local mechanic check out the A/C last week. The system blows air but it is not cold. I was thinking that it needed a recharge.
The mechanic told me the compressor was not getting any power. When he checked further he discovered that both the A/C and steroe had no power at the fuse panel (inside) when checked at their appropriate fuses.
He has spent a couple of days troubleshooting but has yet to solve the issue.
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

The fuse links at the starter have been checked an seem to be okay. The power dist. box may be a possibility. The local mechanic that is helping me with this, had to order a new book with more detailed wiring diagrams. When it comes in I am going to let him have the care for a day. If I leave him the car on a slow day, he has agreed not to charge me for the diagnostic time. (I spend enough money there).
