Default Question about radio removal

Hello, I'm a new member here and I am just wondering how to remove the 6 disc in dash radio from an 02 Explorer. It seems that the black plastic piece around the radio and HVAC controls should just pop off but I can't get it.

That's what I thought but I didn't want to start pulling on it without knowing for sure.

Thanks

YOu don't have to take any of that off. Go to Autozone and purchase the radio removal tool (less than $5). Instructions come with it.
