My husband just replaced the transfer case in our 97 Explorer with a transfer case from a Ranger. No Control Trac, cruise control, speedometer. Question is by him replacing with "wrong" transfer case, would that make the brakes spongy and not work but maybe a handful of times. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
