Default Turn Signals-Hazards - Radio

New to this forum - just bought 98 XLT Explorer, display died in radio, single CD AM/FM, with CD changer controls. Would like to have an in-dash CD changer, found one out of 03 Expedition on craigslist for good price. Have not taken my radio out yet, waiting on removal tools I bought on ebay. Dimensions from front are the same 4" X 7 1/2" & rear of changer has large & small plug. Only visible problem is that my radio has the 4 holes for the removal tool & the changer does not. Will the newer changer/radio work in my 98 or will it have to be unlocked? Are the 2 plugs the same on both? My radio does have RDS button if that matters.

Also have a tilt wheel & hazards & turn signals only work if strng wheel is in the upper two positions. So must have a wire(s) stretched or broken. Is that gonna be a big problem to find on my own, I'm not good w/electrical probs. Would that be expensive to fix at a dealer? Thanks much for help with these probs.
