$8,000+ new transmission? 4 years 10 months but 72,000 miles !
Dealers says I need a new transmission for my 2018 F150 Platinum. Less than 5 years old. @72,000 miles. Warranty is 5 years and 60,000 miles so I’m beyond the allowed mileage.
I’ve heard bad transmissions is a known issue for 10 speed 2018 F150s.
any advice on how to work with Ford to have them cover the repair? Or most of it? Thanks!

I have a 2019 F150 Ecoboost. I have 79,000 miles. So, like you I am on my own as far as cost. I took it to the dealer who said it was a CDF Drum problem. I was shocked on the price. 8700 for a new one with a 2 year warranty or 5700 for a rebuilt. After 79000 miles there is this problem? Also, there have been no apparent improvements to the problem. I asked, "so, am I gonna have to come in here every 3 years to fix a transmission? After research, there are many ford trucks or other cars that use this transmission. Why isn't Ford strepping up to the plate and taking responibility for this? I have owned 11 trucks in my day and I have always been very happy until this crap came along. Come on Ford, get you head out of your *** and fix this!

Check out in your area who will install a remanufactured trans. They come with a good warranty, but might cost a little more.
Who ever installs it must follow certain installation procedures so the warranty is good. One of those requirements is to have the trans cooler flushed, which a lot of placed just don't do.
