I just Recently purchased and 06 f-150 4x2 w/v-6 and a manual Transmission... geared at 3.55

I still have under 1000 miles on it... but I have some questions regarding fuel milage... It varies so much. and I' by no means am I a lead foot..

My first milage checke I got 28 miles to the gallon My second 22,, and last night I checked it at 19... Mixed driving.. city and Highway... on all three checks.... I just wander how much the milage will improve after the breaking in period...

The fuel milage estimate on the window sticker was 15/20 but I noticed that the other trucks equiped with automatics and v-8's estimates were just about identical... I just assumed that the manual v-6 trucks would get better milage....


I love the truck so far..rides well.. love the cruise and for a v-6,,, I think it has plenty of power...


What modifications have people made with their trucks to improve milage

the closer you get to 10 k they better it shoud get it takes a while for everything to break in
