08 f150 5.4 problems
Have a 2008 F150 4wd with the 5.4. A month or so ago it was driving with no issues. I came to a stop light and it just died. No sputtering, no shaking just died like I turned the key off and wouldn’t start. It is cranking but won’t fire. A few days later I went to start it and it fired up with no problems and idled. When I put it into gear it immediately died again. Sometimes it will turn right back over, sometimes it will take a few days, hours, or minutes to run again. I replaced the fuel pump, the drive module, And the fuel filter. I was getting a lot of codes and most of them were communication issues and a bad ECM code.I just put a new computer in it with new keys. Same thing.. it fired right up, idled for 10 minutes, and as soon as I put it into reverse it ang got 20 feet, it shut off. An hour later, it started back up. I ran through reverse, and drive and it stayed running. I put it into nuetral and it shut off. There are no codes on the new ECM and I am out of ideas.

Something you might try,
Do you know how to check for spark and fuel?
That is what needs to be determined and depending on which is absent we go from there.
The majority of the time one of those two is at fault and we try to determine which one.
It could be something simple like a poor electrical connection that could affect either one , spark or fuel supply.
What if anything have you done/checked so far?
In the meantime , Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays !!
