1985 f150 4x4 300 4.9 inline 6 won't run properly
So, when I try to accelerate my truck Bogs down and either dies or nearly dies. However it idles okay. I've replaced the cap and rotor, just pulled the distributor to check if the roll pin was sheared, got new sparkplugs and wires, a new carb and a new fuel pump. I just can't figure out what is wrong other than maybe mouse damage as I see some of the wires have been chewed. Any advice would help.
Raski offered a good suggestion.
What you are looking for with a vacuum gauge,
Connected to intake manifold, note vac reading at idle, then raise RPM up to around 2500 RPM.
IF vacuum reading starts going down and continues to go down , exhaust syst is restricted.
