Frustrated with my F150
My 1990 F150 Supercab LongBed 4x4 5.0L has been parked for almost a year now. I replaced the transmission with a brand new one from www.rebuilt-manual-transmissions.com, but that is not the problem. My truck started almost instantly after replacing the trans. I left it running for at least 30 minutes to keep the charge in the battery, but the truck just died out. Since then, I've tried everything from, new ignintion module, new stator & electronic module, and replaced the fuse relay's. My truck cranks it just doesn't want to start. It did at first, up until i changed the stator. Here's the other thing. I marked the #1 distributor location before changing the stator, and for some reason both Chilton's and Hayne's Truck manuals have no picture for me to see where the #1 marking is on the distributor area between the two heads. I was able to find TDC on the harmonic balancer, but can't get the distributor aligned or TDC. Maybe I missed something, but I am starting to lose all hope already. PLEASE HELP! I love my truck, but I get frustrated every time I work on it and no luck.
