1988 F150 Lariat - Idle Problem
#13
Hayapower & Hanky.... It's difficult to express the appreciation I have for you fellows on this forum. To merely say that you've helped me with my two vehicles through the years is a understatement to say the least. Your advice should be in the "Haynes Manual" word for word!
Along with my other post (small oil soaked air filter), I checked the ohm reading of the brand new IAC I ordered. The manual states it should be between 7 to 13 ohms... it read 10.5 ohms if I remember right.
Immediately after installing, give/take a few hours, the engine started within a few revolutions and I could sense a improved difference... fast idle, then a drop in rpms to a normal idle as the engine warmed up. Over the course of a week, driving around town, start/stop, etc... approximately a 30 mile run... all seems well excepting a slightly rough idle (valve job looming in the future).
I haven't disconnected the electrical plug from the IAC while running yet (forgot) but will do that soon and will stop back and report the results. Thanks again fellows, much appreciation from this end.
P.S. Yep, the electric windows are working fine Hanky... the door locks too.
